AMRC Forum: This year's model

18 December 2013

4 February, AMRC Knowledge Transfer Centre.

New tools for modelling, simulation, analysis and visualisation promise to revolutionise the way that engineers design, prove and manufacture new products. Combining complex mathematical techniques such as finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics with interactive visualisation technology can give unprecedented insight into how products and processes behave. But how can manufacturers use these virtual tools to gain a real competitive advantage?

The first AMRC Forum of 2014 discusses how leading companies in the advanced manufacturing top tier are using simulation and analysis tools to put new designs into production, and how suppliers can use them drive productivity and move up the value chain.

The morning event features speakers from innovative manufacturers and developers of the new wave of manufacturing software, including:

  • Jaguar Land Rover - how visualisation and virtual reality tools helped create the Range Rover Evoque.
  • Lanner - the state of the art in predictive simulation and analysis of production processes.
  • Ansys - advanced analytical tools and techniques to predict how products will behave in the real world.
  • CGTech - how to get real benefits from simulating and verifying your manufacturing equipment.
