We are improving local people’s life chances and the regional economies in our main locations of South Yorkshire, Lancashire and North Wales.
Some of the biggest private sector investments in UK advanced manufacturing over the last 15 years would not have happened without us. We’ve brought more than £260m and 600 jobs to South Yorkshire. We turned £5m of EU funding into £22.5m of value for SMEs in Lancashire. And we used our technical expertise to support delivery of Airbus UK’s Wing of Tomorrow programme, seen as critical to safeguarding 6,500 jobs in Wales.
We work in schools to open children’s eyes to the possibilities of science, technology, engineering and maths. And we’ve trained more than 1,700 apprentices — 80% from South Yorkshire, and many from the most deprived postcodes — for fulfilling careers in advanced manufacturing.
Taken together, we’re having a huge impact on people’s lives — and bringing a newfound ambition and prosperity to the places we call home.
