18 September 2014Thursday 16 October 2014
**EXHIBITOR SPACES STILL AVAILABLE**
This year's AMRC-NAMTEC conference will take place on Thursday 16th October 2014 and be held at the prestigious Leeds city centre venue - The Queens Hotel.
For 2014 the conference will focus on advances in net shape manufacture.
Additive manufacturing processes have received intense media attention, but what are the realities of net and near-net shape manufacturing with metals? Does the technology live up to the hype?
The conference will look at the latest advances in traditional net shape manufacturing processes such as casting and forging and forming, plus recent developments in powder metallurgy techniques. Experts from aerospace, power, oil & gas and other sectors will present the latest developments and industry challenges in this fast-moving area.
Our pre-dinner speaker has now been confirmed as Captain David Rowland FRAeS FRIN, former Captain and General Manager of the Concorde Fleet. David will present on "Concorde - the shape of 20thCentury time travel".
Confirmed presenters for the conference include:
- Tim Armstrong, Carpenter Technology - "Shaping our Future - Near Net Shapes from Metallic Powders"
- Paul D Edwards, Boeing - "Metallic Parts on Future BCA Programs & Next Generation Technologies"
- Richard Gould, Castings Technology International (Cti) - "Casting performance into your product"
- Jaguar Land Rover
- Graham Honeyman, Sheffield Forgemasters - "Near Net Shape Forgings for Nuclear Applications"
- Iain Todd, Mercury Centre - "Additive manufacture in metals - opportunities and challenges"
