TRAM3 International Conference

31 May 2012

12-13 September 2012, Chicago

The University of Sheffield AMRC with Boeing is proud to present the latest Trends in Aerospace Machining, Manufacturing and Materials (TRAM3) international conference.

TRAM3 aims to bring together people who are interested in making industry even more innovative. This year, it is held in Chicago alongside the International Manufacturing and Technology Show (IMTS).

Changes in materials, manufacturing technology and industry structure are driving innovation across the aerospace sector. TRAM3 '12 will examine these trends in three key areas:

  • Advanced machining processes to produce more complex parts for the latest designs in aircraft structures and engines.
  • Advanced manufacturing technologies including additive manufacturing and other innovative disruptive technologies.
  • Advanced materials such as composites and titanium alloys used to create lighter, stronger structures.

The conference will open with a welcome address from Professor Keith Ridgway and Adrian Allen of the AMRC with Boeing. Sam Turner, head of the AMRC Process Technology Group, will give a presentation on the dynamic aspects of metals machining; and Alma Hodzic, research director of the University of Sheffield AMRC, will present work on life-cycle analysis of aerospace composite structures.
