The University of Sheffield AMRC presents an open evening for young people to find out about study and careers opportunities in advanced manufacturing, and see how AMRC engineers are applying their skills at the cutting edge of research.

Make Innovate Create showcases opportunities in advanced engineering and manufacturing, including the AMRC Training Centre and new University Technical College (UTC) for Sheffield City Region, both of which will open in 2013. Download the flyer for more information, or register online via the UTC.

The AMRC European projects team will show how engineering knowhow and innovative thinking can be used in original research to solve the transport and energy challenges of the future. Students will be challenged to design, build, power and race a model car, using the same principles as used by the AMRC with Boeing's engineers in their international research projects.

Visitors can also board Mantra, the AMRC's unique travelling showcase for advanced engineering, to find out more about manufacturing opportunities and technologies, including a virtual reality demonstration.
