Launch of the Centre of Excellence in Customised Assembly

The Centre of Excellence in Customised Assembly (CECA) will officially be launched on 28 February 2008. CECA is a collaboration between the Universities of Loughborough, Nottingham and Sheffield and backed by many industry partners.

CECA is the only one of its kind in the UK, focusing exclusively on assembly improvements and opening its research, expertise and innovations to industry.

The launch event will be attended by industry professionals, particularly those in aerospace, defence, pharmaceutical/medical device and automotive sectors. Guest speakers will include industrial specialists and F1 test driver Perry McCarthy, who will speak about the current and future challenges for assembly and how CECA will help manufacturers to excel in the changing landscape.

The launch event will be held at the Factory of the Future on the Advanced Manufacturing Park (map here) between 3pm and 6pm on 28th February.
