Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre warms to insulation specialist's service standards

SIG Technical Insulation and MacGregor & Moir have won the praises of the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing.

Both companies are part of the Sheffield-based leading European supplier of specialist building products SIG.

The AMRC's Advanced Structural Testing Centre sought SIG's help with a project to test the airworthiness of the Lincolnshire-based Game Composites Game Bird 1 (GB1) aircraft designed to carry out spectacular aerobatic manoeuvres.

Part of the testing regime involves raising the temperature of the aircraft to more than 70
