Social Programme

9th October 2019: Icebreaker Event: Take a river cruise down the Sheffield Canal – A pivotal feature in Yorkshire’s historical industrial past providing both power and transportation in decades gone by.

  • 5:45 meet the AMRC Team with the Cruise beginning at 6pm sharp. Please meet outside the Hilton Sheffield Hotel, Victoria Quays, Furnival Road, Sheffield, S4 7YB: Link to the hotel is here: https://tinyurl.com/y6d7zsaj. The cruise will last for 1.5hr and pie and peas will be served as well as a welcome drink.
  • 7:30pm-10:00pm - Hilton Sheffield Hotel. This includes canapés and two drinks and also conference registration.
  • Dress Code: Smart/casual. 

10th October 2019: Conference dinner at Cutlers’ Hall starting at 19:00. The Cutlers' Hall is the home of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire who converted Sheffield steel into high quality, world famous cutlery.
Dress code
: Jacket & tie/Cocktail dress. 
Please arrive by 19.00. Dining will commence at 19.30.  The event is due to finish at 23.00.


Scientific programme
The conference will run from Thursday 10th to Friday 11th October from 8:30 to 17:00. The scientific programme will be published after the paper review process.
A shuttle bus transport has been arranged to take you from Sheffield City Centre to the AMRC. A bus will be picking delegates up from outside the Montgomery Theatre, Surrey Street (S1 2LG) promptly at 07.45am. Please ensure you arrive in plenty of time in order to secure your place on the bus. A return bus will leave the AMRC at the close of each day and will return delegates to the same pickup location, Surrey Street (S1 2LG).  Registration will take place in the Knowledge Transfer Centre reception, where you will be given your delegate pack and staff will be on hand to answer any enquiries. Please look out for the conference team representatives wearing red t-shirts and they will be also be holding CIRP signs.
