Andy Smith
He represents the Tooling Division of Swedish material technology group Sandvik AB. Sandvik Tooling develops, manufactures and sells tools and tooling systems for metal cutting applications across all major industrial
segments. With sales in excess of $1,3B and with employees numbering over 15,000, Sandvik Tooling is the largest supplier of metal cutting tools to the global market.
Having worked for Sandvik for over 30 years he has held several senior positions in marketing and product management. In the late 80's he relocated to the parent company in Sweden and spent 3 years working with tooling systems. He has recently re-joined the UK organisation after a further 3 year international assignment as Senior Global Process Manager-Special Products.
Other professional commitments have included chairmanship of the British Standard Institution committee for cutting tools and systems, and currently as a sponsor of the IMECHE MX Manufacturing Awards he continues to play an active part in the promotion of business excellence.
With a grown up family he enjoys travelling, playing squash and occasional "social" golf.
